Xiaomi has already separated the Redmi brand and its first budget smartphone launch in China was Redmi note 7 and this phone came out with 48 mp camera. The phone also had an all glass design which is the one of first few phones to have this kind of look and feel in that price segment. For the company CEO said that this is not going to be a flagship phone from the series, it is going to be another phone.
Also, In January, at the launch of Redmi Note 7, the company announces that it’s working on a phone with Snapdragon 855 and now the same has been confirmed by the CEO of the company in a Weibo post. We have seen that most companies used a midrange chipset in this price segment beating the Vivo v11 pro or Nokia 8.1 and plenty of others smartphones.
The poco f1
There was Poco f1 that use Snapdragon 845, the new Redmi phone is going to be a little different from the Poco f1. The company aims to do it keeping the Poco f1 as a gaming smartphone that have features like liquid cooling. Coming to the design, Poco f1 comes with full plastic body and not much attention to the looks of the phone. The Redmi phone will be different in fact, it may use a full glass design and will be much more premium in looks. This would be very similar to Asus ZenFone 5z that we saw last year that had all premium top end specs but it’s build quality and looks all quite premium.
The company says that it will not include 5g capability on this device and since in India 5g is about to take off only after 2020. This is the smartphone majorly meant for India. The name of the premium phone that will get the SD 855 is not yet known, the Redmi Note 7 pro is almost a done deal as a lot has been revealed about the device. Reports say the supposed SD 855 powered Redmi phone will be priced at about Rs.26000.
