WhatsApp will soon allow users to make group video calls from a group chat.

Group Video calling is one of the most requested features on WhatsApp and it will be available for the users at the end of the year. According to the WABetaInfo WhatsApp will present a list of all participants in the group. Here the plus point is user can’t see the people from the group that are not saved in your contacts which is good for user privacy.

Users are restricted to three other contacts for the time being. You can also switch to video call from voice call and vice versa depending on your WhatsApp group settings.

The changes were spotted on IOS but don’t worry Android users it’s not an exclusive feature Android will also get group video call update. If you want to try this feature first you can enroll WhatsApp beta from Play Store and you will get the update as soon as it hits the beta version of WhatsApp.

The group calling button is very useful for smaller group chats –  such as small family group which have 4 members so you can talk to them instantly on group video call.

In Group video call feature WhatsApp will have a great competition in future because Facebook supports group video call upto 50 participants at a time whereas skype supports 25 and Apple’s FaceTime supports upto 32 people.
