Replying to a tweet, Elon Musk offers to drill a 50km long tunnel through Blue Mountains in Australia
Elon Reeve Musk, a tech genius known for his remarkable achievements in science & technology. Musk is mainly known as the CEO of Tesla, Neuralink, SpaceX and also the founder of The Boring Company.
The Boring Company
The Boring company was founded by Elon Musk on December 17, 2016 i.e. 2 years ago. The company mainly focuses on infrastructure and tunnel construction. Presently, the company headquarters is located in Hawthrone, California, United States.
Offer made by Musk
In a recent tweet on Jan 16, 2019 by an Australian lawmaker Jeremy Buckingham requested Musk to build a tunnel joining Sydney to the west. With constantly increasing traffic in the city, Buckingham made the request so that the city could divert the traffic and also it will provide a cheap and faster path from Sydney to the west.
The lawmaker tweeted, “I’m a lawmaker in Sydney, which is choking with traffic. How much to build a 50km tunnel through the Blue Mountains and open up the west of our State?”. Therefore, in a reply to his tweet Elon Musk offers to build a tunnel.
Moreover, if The Boring Company gets the contract, then it will become the first project of the company outside the U.S. Also, according to Musk the total cost will probably figure as “About $15M/km for a two way high speed transit, so probably around $750M plus maybe $50M/station”. This project could also change the future of The Boring Company by starting with the Blue Mountains.
The potential route
After Musk’s reply to the tweet, Jeremy Buckingham tweeted a map of the potential route joining Sydney and the west.
With more projects, the Boring Company is aiming to dig up more tunnels at a cheaper cost using fast and efficient machines not only in the U.S. but all round the world.
Therefore, it seems Elon Musk is pushing The Boring Company to a next level, which he does will all his companies.
